I claimed bankruptcy 20 years ago for the first time I maybe looking at it again will this be considered a second time because of the length of time since the first time.

Rob, Yes, unfortunately the time span between assignments is not relevant. A second bankruptcy will be a minimum period of 24 months to 36 months dependent upon your income. There ia however another option to consider. A Consumer proposal is usually a partial repayment option which will avoid a second bankruptcy.
