Question:

I currently have collections wanting payment for bills accumulated thru the last ten years, am I legally bound to pay them now, as I am on aish disability and cpp disability. I hope to get this off my "plate" as this is stressful and not good for my mental illness to be so stressed .. Thank you

Answer:

Tammy Yes your creditors are entitled to pursue you for these debts, however your income given the AISH benfits may not be subject to collection action such as garnishment or seizure. This fact in itself may not be sufficient to stop the collection calls and take "it off your plate" from a stress perspective. I would be happy to arrange a no charge consultation at your convenience. Thanks for the question.
