Question:

Hi there. I am currently 1 year into a 4 year OPD plan. I am paying 775.00 every 2 weeks. I own my acreage with about $20,000 in equity, a truck with about $2,000 in equity etc. Now in your opinion do you feel I would have been better off going bankrupt based on what has happened to my bureau or is an OPD better off in the long run? I make approx. $120K/year and that includes an annuity that I get paid monthly and is indexed yearly. I was hurt back in 1982 in an MVA and have been a paraplegic since. An amount of money was invested, paying me back monthly. Thank you. I look forward to your feedback. Kind regards, Mark

Answer:

Mark You provided no information on who your creditors are or how much you owe them. I would also need to look at your personal circumstances in more detail. I would be happy to sit down with you and review your situation and explain the option of both bankruptcy and a Proposal to creditors. A second opinion is always a good thing, please call me at your convenience and I would be happy to meet with you.
