Question:

Good Evening My question is I am separated from my husband and half way through divorce precedings and he has informed me that he is now filing for bankruptcy, we had two vehicles and I kept one and he kept one but the loan is in his name and I am a cosigner on both vehicles. So having said all that if he declares bankruptcy will I be left on the hook for both vehicles or will they be covered by his bankruptcy. Thank You Crystal

Answer:

Crystal, Unfortunately as a co-signor you will remain liable for any debt assoiated with the loans. If the loan goes into default or if his vehicle is seized and sold, you will remain liable for the deficiency. Thanks for the question
