Alberta bankruptcy Q&A forum

I filed for bankruptcy in 2002 and discharged in 2003 and have since rebuilt my credit score to 736. However, today we went to apply for a mortgage and the bank asked if either of us have ever declared bankruptcy. Is this still on my credit report and do I have to disclose it after this long? I am worried this will cost us the mortgage.

Laurie If the bank have asked the question you need to disclose the information pertaining to your bankruptcy. This is likely a standard question in the bank's lending protocol and is not related to a credit bureau search. I suggest you obtain a copy of your credit report .
