Bankruptcy Calgary Edmonton Q&A Forum

Question:

what can I expect will happen if I declare bankruptcy? credit? length of time til cleared?

From:

Grant Thornton Limited

Date:

Jan 21, 2015

Answer:

Hi The credit bureau indicate that they will record the bankruptcy filing on the Credit Report for 6 years after discharge. Assuming a first time bankruptcy, the period of bankruptcy is either 9 months or 21 months dependent upon your earnings. A second time bankruptcy is either a period of 24 or 36 months, again dependent on your earnings. Thanks for the question
