Question:

 

I have a appartement in fort saskatchewan. I have being living here for 2 months. I own a house in new brunswick which i have a morgage on. My question is if i file for bankruptcy in alberta do i lose my house down east. Second question is i am financing 2 vehicules which i owe at least 20,000 more than there value. Can i keep one vehicule thanks gilles.

Hi Gilles, You may keep the real property in New Brunswick if you are current with the mortgage on the property and contribute an amount equal to the available equity in the property. As for your vehicles, you may choose to keep a vehicle if you continue to maintain the monthly obligations pursuant to your finance contract. The other vehicle may be surrendered to the bank.
