Alberta bankruptcy Q&A forum

Question:

I am wondering why I have two different case numbers for the same bankruptcy. This shows up on my credit report as two bankruptcies. It is impossible to get any credit because of this. How do I prove a single bankruptcy with two different case numbers. Thanks for your time.

Answer:

Hello, You will need to send in a dispute or an investigation to the credit bureaus to verify the case numbers reported. I would suggest contacting the Superintendent of Bankruptcy to verify which bankruptcy estate number is correct and obtain a bankruptcy search. This will allow you to forward the correct information to the credit bureaus. Once that is complete the credit companies can decide whether they would like to extend credit based on your current situation as you may be debt free. Hope that helps answer your concern.
