Bankruptcy Calgary Edmonton Q&A Forum

Question:

Hello, I have backed taxes for a couple years for both my personal and corporate ltd. Company that I used as an independent contractor. I have always filled my returns and just canât get ahead to pay this off. Would bankruptcy cover this?

Answer:

Hello, Personal bankruptcy would include personal income tax outstanding from prior years and from January 1st, 2015 to the day you file the bankruptcy. A personal bankruptcy will also include director liabilities such as GST and source deductions if you were the director. The bankruptcy however will not include the corporate taxes outstanding. Hope that answers your concern. if you had further questions concerning your financial options please do not hesitate to contact our office. Best regards.
