Alberta bankruptcy Q&A forum

If you file for bankruptcy can you have a company in your name that is LTD. or INC? Does this change if you are not discharged yet?

Hello, You can remain as a shareholder of a limited company; however, you cannot be a director during bankruptcy. If you are considering filing for bankruptcy and want the company to continue to operate then you will need a person to step in as director and control the operations. If you have additional questions or concerns please contact our office at 310-8888 and we would be happy to discuss with you.
