Edmonton, Calgary, Alberta bankruptcy Q&A forum

Hello, my friend had used your company before to help him out, he had nothing but good things to say. So here is my situation, I have about 35 k debt, and have been unemployed for over 14 months now and not many prospects for employment. I have been applying for anything and everything. I do not have much EI left and have used up the insurance on my CC and loans, the banks have been helpful but I have used all my money and options. EI will run out soon. If I file for bankruptcy, and say in the next few months find full time work how will this affect the proceedings? Will my bankruptcy be extended from the 9 months to the 21 months?

Hi Harold, The Bankruptcy term is based on your earnings during bankruptcy. Depending on your average income, a bankruptcy is either 9 months or 21 months if you have never filed for bankruptcy before. I would suggest coming in for a no obligation no charge consultation where we can review the process with you. Please contact us 310-8888 to speak to one of our professionals.
