Calgary, Edmonton bankruptcy Q&A forum

Question:

How does a proposal work? Is it the same as claiming bankruptcy or is it a step before that happens?

Answer:

Hello, A proposal is an alternative to bankruptcy which allows you to settle your debts to an affordable amount (if applicable). The filing of a proposal does affect your credit rating but allows you to formulate a budget for expenses and repayment. Alternatively, if the proposal is not accepted or affordable then you can choose to file bankruptcy. I would be happy to discuss the differences in detail. Please contact us at 310-8888 to speak to one of our professionals.
